I had it put in when the car was new, and have used it a fair amount since I live in Montana. I got mine through a Saab dealer, and believe it's the same one they use for the old 9000 V6, which is a different engine. Installation is a bit of a chore in the V6, and for the Arc the dealer recommended going in from the other direction than the installation instructions specify. If they say go in from the top, you're better off going up from the bottom, for example. A few months ago, I developed a split hose right where the heater is installed, and suspect that excessive use of the heater was responsible. I now try to turn it on for only a couple of hours, instead of all night. I think it gets as warm in 2 hours as it ever will. They save on engine wear, and you will be getting some heat within about a mile no matter how cold it it outside.
