This is strictly a Saab thing. I have a V6 and one of the DICs went at 64,000 miles. On the other hand, I have a 1991 Acura Legend LS which has 175,000 miles on it, uses DICs and still has the originals. A major part of the problem is location in the engine compartment. Saab's location really puts them in harms way from the engine heat.
