Good idea, I had not thought of that option. But a similar 7-9K deposit would not likely bring the price down to $250/m. I am concerned about the km - and wonder if 20KM/yr is enough for driving in this part of the country.
I have some other concerns too - no sunroof (on base Linear), and manual transmission - I had hoped for automatic only because of GTA traffic jams and awkwardness when talking on a cel(its like smoking - people know they shouldn't but they still do). The manual trany fun factor is nice, but I liked the automatic on the 93 that allows some manual shifting or has sport mode options. The price, however, is still attractive - if I can talk him down to a $5-6K recoup cost and then $250/month.
As a second choice... I have my eye on a 2003 93 Linear (with both the touring package and premium pacage - bringing in sunroof, auto climate control, foglamps, Xenon headlamps, and other non-essentials such as auto-dimming mirror, rain sesning wipers, 6 disc CD changer and parking assist (what ever that is?)). It has 11K Kmm and is selling for 31,900 - but is out of Ottawa.
I called one dealer who has been very helpful (London SSI) and they said they do a form 153 - a 153 point vehicle inspection and report any major items plus any items that may need work down the line. All for $90. Very reasonable for that level of comfort.
I think the 93 is a bit more fun to drive, but I like the saftey/security and comfortable cruising of the 95.
Decsions decisions.
