Anyone has had this problem with the headlight washer..

this is a unusual one:
The headlight washer jet came on one day and I saw the passenger side headlight washer was squirting lots of fluid toward the front of the car instead of toward the headlight and hood. I also found washer fluid dripping on the underside of the car when parked.
So I pulled on the headlight washer jet/cover. By the way, the washer unit comes out and up toward the front of the car and not just up if someone is wondering. I initially tried pulling the cover up and it was hard to do and part of the washer cover and front assembly came off (not broken however). I pulled the jet out and saw the back of what seemed like a check valve missing in the unit. I looked at the other side, and confirmed that. The check valve is built into the whole jet assembly, so it the check valve leaks, I would presume that whole unit needs to be replaced.
Anyone has this happened to their car ? I don't even want to know how much this gizmo is going to cost, at least its a 2003 so should be an warranty item.
Oh, one more thing, the painted covers of the headlight washer jets are just snapped on and they are not held on that tight, you may want to put a piece or two of double sided foam tape before they sail off on the highway.
