Looking for input on used wagon Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Was out shopping for a 9-3 and tripped over a 9-5 wagon at a dealer. MY2000, 4-cyl, with a decent option set (power seats, ....). It's an automatic, which is necessary. It's got 63K, so it's just out of Certification range. They're asking 15K. It seems like a decent price from a dealer.
I'm figuring 14K, including the 60K tuneup (assuming it hasn't been done), and a new rigid cargo cover (it's missing - see below) would be reasonable. That's assuming it passes my second pass inspection.
Most of the wagons I've been seeing are closer to 19+ K.
They're offering a bumper-to-bumper for $1900,which would be good for 36K/3 years. I'm thinking that's not worth it. Assuming a new DI, replacing an AC compressor, and some other minor stuff, I'm guessing I'll see $1200 in repairs in the next three years. I'm probably better off banking the money. Of course, if folks are seeing lots of expensive repairs in the 60-100K mile range, I'd like to hear about it.
Thoughts?
