My shelf is in good shape too on my MY 99 wagon. I hardly everr load it, and definitely use it to keep prying eyes away from my investigation kit . It looks hard to break to me!
What I really appreciate is my pull out floor, which is really great when I need a place to sit and get my boots on... I bought extra cargo tracks (now have four on each side), and I picked up the rear mat too. You do have to slice it carefully at the edge of the track to be able to pull out the shelf, and you also need to make two cuts around the handle.
the previous owner had left the plastic trim in the cargo tracks, but I could tell the pull out was used a lot. I was suprised to see it and the other compartment covers seem to be made of plywood with a carpet cover, especially in these days of plastic everywhere.
Regards,
CrNiFe
