Good news- no need to modify tranny! Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Tue, 6 Jul 2004 06:18:15 In Reply to: Cheap Performance Upgrade, Brenley, Mon, 5 Jul 2004 14:02:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
That's because you're not going to see any increase in HP. Or actually, there will be a Virtual increase. No change to performance, but hoping is better than dispair.
As others have noted, this is hooey. Sticking a restriction in the intake ('tornado') is going to decrease hp, not increase. And as if a swirl in the intake is going to stay swirled by the time it makes it down through the intake valves. Engine manufacturers had folks that do nothing but model airflow into cylinders to get the last little bit of performance. Various head designs are optimized for power and fuel economy. As an example, many manufacturers resort to expensive and complex variable intake geometries. Do you think that if something as simple as a toilet swirl on the intake worked so well, that they'd ignore it? Any good idea gets stolen immediately.
Zero Gravity Performance module. I don't even know what that is, but with a name like that, it must work. Same point - if somebody had such a great idea that actually worked, why wouldn't it be on every car out there? Oh, yeah, I know - the great Oil Company Conspiracy. But if that were true, why would Honda be able to sell 50 mpg Civics?
