First the DIC, then the catalytic converter, now ???

Hi everyone,
Had my car serviced for the 50K checkup--everything was great and the car passed just fine. Now, at 51K....
It's been a fun couple of weeks--first the DI cassette went out on a dangerous, busy highway with no shoulders. Miracle that we didn't get killed.
Then, not 1/4 mile from where the car died previously, check engine light comes on, and my catalytic converter was hosed. Got Saab to pay for both.
Now, less than one week later, my car won't start, just has some weak lights when the key is turned. I was able to walk home this time, instead of needing a 50 mile taxi ride.
My question is has this happened to anyone else? The battery is only 3 years old, and it just passed the 50K inspection. There seems to be a sequence of common events when the DI fails...is this another part of the sequence? Really not thrilled that I have another problem! (Oh yeah, SID failed at 49K...how do they time these things so well?)
