Ran Leon's A/C test

A few days ago, Leon posted this for me:
"Geoff, I measured the air temp on my '04 Aero recently. The outside temp was about 88 degrees and the car had been in the sun all day. With the temp set to 72 and Auto selected, the cooled air from the center vent was 44 degrees within 2 minutes. If I increased the fan speed to high (or selected LO temp), the cooled air rose to 52 degrees. I'm no expert on HVAC, but I think it makes sense that the temp goes up with the fan speed. In any case, the cabin was pretty comfortable within 5 minutes (those ventilated seats helped, tho)."
Did the same test today, sunny and about 90-92F. Set ACC to 72 and Auto and started the car. All readings at steady 70mph on a fairly level stretch of freeway (after first minute). Readings at center vent:
0 min 132F
2 min 110F
4 min 70F
6 min 62F Fan down to 4 bars
8 min 52F Fan down to 3 bars
10 min 47F
12 min 45F then ACC computer opened the vents and temp started rising again
reset ACC to LO, outlet temp rose quickly to 52F and stayed there for the next 20 minutes. Cabin never reached a comfortable temperature ("comfortable" measured subjectively by me not sweating like a faucet).
