mine too stopped out of the blues, it was running perfectly no prior warning, is this normal, my audi gave me warnings like it wouldnt shift correctly. the check gearbox light went on, and soonafter i was in limp mode. i drove to the garage hoping i needed a flush or some computer reset. i insisted they check these first but i was told that the message from diagnosis is indicating a gearbox fault. it turned out that there was extensive damage in the gearbox from previous owner's harsh driving. (but this i found out after i bought the car, first the dealer said the owner is a very gentle driver, also a banker by profession:). the bill showed shaft, flanghe , disc and bands, fluid, radiator ($500) total $2000. they had to change the radiator and they are saying that it has caused the tranny to heat and break. so now it is the previous owner fault:) previously i asked about if the ATF was burned or smelled but was told it was not, =======>which means that there was no heat, then what caused the gearbox the break????????i'll never know the truth i guess. sorry for the long story, it helps to get it off the chest. i bought my 99 9-5 on Christmas for $11K it had 103K kilometers.
