I installed it, but in the process I disabled onstar. This was my intention since I think Onstar is a useless waste of money (IMO). However, the harness that Saab sells doesn't work with cars with Onstar, or at least as far as I could tell. I looked around back there and saw no harness that would fit into the saab accessory. So I started soldering...
It's really pretty straightforward, I used the mic that came with the motorola kit, then I spliced in the speakers, 12v, gnd, and mute. It took about 2 hours start to finish.
If anyone can verify that a saab harness will work with a 01 or above 9-5 please let me know. Even though I've now destroyed my factory harness (well, cut into it anyways).
If you need detailed instructions please let me know. I found it pretty easy, however no shop I found would touch the project since it involves splicing into a factory harness.
Liam :-)
