My wife and I both had Gislaved snow tires on our Saabs.
The 2002 9-5 Aero has 205/55/16
The 1999 9-3 has 185/65/15
Each of these has been minus-sized but the 9-3 is a little extra minus-sized.
I've driven both in the snow (I lived in NH) with the Gislaveds and found the 9-5 to be a hair better. I'm not sure if it's the traction control, the wider tire, or the stability control but it's just more sure-footed.
Note that in the really deep stuff, the smaller size tire of the 9-3 prevails but in the daily slippery mess, the 9-5 is king.
I recently replaced the Gislaveds with studded Hakkas on my 9-3 and found the ice traction go way up and the snow traction go down a small amount. Both are excellent however. We got about 3 years out of the Gislaveds.
