Hello....
The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is an excellent tire. I have them on two vehicles, a SAAB 9-5 and an Audi A-4. There is a known issue with this tire that seems to be more noticible on some vehicles. Mercedes has issued a service bulletin stating that this tire is not approved for their vehicles because of this issue. Some Audi cars show problems with this same issue, and for some reason, some BMW cars also show this issue. No one seems to know exactly why this issue affects some cars and not others. My Audi was a real pain to align. It finally got done correctly, after several trips to the alignment shop. To my way of thinking though it is still too sensitive to road crowns, but at least it is sensitive equally on both sides of the crown. My SAAB is less sensitive than the Audi, but it still is noticable. Tire pressures seem to influence this condition. I have found that 37 lbs (cold pressure) all around seems to make the condition much better than lower pressures............
Michelin is aware of this "situation" If you contact them at Customer Service at their headquarters in Greenville South Carolina, and explain your situation to them you will find that they do make the same tire with a different "torque loading on the tread", which they say eliminates the problem. However this means you would have to go throught the whole process again....removal of tires, balancing and your car has probably been "aligned to attempt to correct this perceived problem".
Try the tire pressure route first. You may find, as I did that you won't notice the sensitivity to the crown.....and this all assumes that your alignment shop has done a proper alignment...front end and back end on your car. I know that once you get this sorted out, you will really enjoy the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S....excellent performance in all weather.
Hope this info helps.
