Compressing Calipers

I am getting ready to replace the front brakes on my '02 9-5 Aero. I'm installing the Satisfied Pro Ceramic pads from tirerack. I'm also replacing the rotors for good measure. I have two questions:
1) The last car I did a break job on was a 1996 Honda Accord and the tickest part was compressing the calipers to fit the new pads. Are there any tricks for compressing the SAAB calipers?
2) Is it a problem to have ceramic on front and OEM on the back?
Any help/guidence would be appreciated.
