Rear Cargo Protection Options

Having no serious problems to obsess about, I'm limiting myself to issues associated with cupholders and cargo mats in our new Arc wagon. Hope others don't mind these trivial questions. So here's the deal...
The car was purchased in part to provide transportation for the new family dog. (No snide remarks, please. At least I bought a Saab.) So the issue of protecting the rear cargo area is paramount, at least until the DI casette goes south.
I've tentatively purchased the Saab rubber cargo mat for the car. Problem is that the dealer maintains that the only color option is black. Having seen a car on the showroom floor with a grey cargo mat/tray, I (and my salesman) find this difficult to believe. Does anyone know if Saab has discontinued the other colors?
I'm also considering getting the "all weather" mat (carpeted) as an alternative, especially if I can't get a grey rubber mat/tray. I've not been able to determine how the multiple pieces are secured to the cargo area floor. Anybody have these? Can you enlighten? Comparison with the effectiveness of the rubber tray/mat?
Finally, there is the after-market option including the Weathertech rubber tray/mat and the Hatchbag. (Found this one by searching the board archive.) Each is more expensive than the Saab version and would, I assume, eliminate the use of the cargo tracks. (The Saab version "limits" the use but provides cutouts at the front and rear to allow some use.) Can anyone confirm/deny the custom "fit" of the Weathertech and/or Hatchbag?
Thanks for the help. The responses to the infamous cupholder issue were very helpful. (So helpful that I accidentally posted my appreciation twice.) Perhaps others can help me resolve this issue as well.
