DI Oil Leak?

During my recent 100,000km service at the Saab workshop, they advised that my DI be replaced due to "oil leakage".
I requested that the old DI be returned to me as I was curious and simply want to take a look at it (I had wanted to remove the DI unit but yet to accumulate enough courage to do it!). Noticed that there was no trace of oil on the unit at all. Is this some kind of precautionary work or they had pull a fast one on me? I will keep the old DI as spare.
