Hope that was a typo on your part. Right now, about the most expensive SAab OEM wheel is about 300.
Regarding wheels, probably the most rugged manufacturing method is drop forging.Very few wheels are made this way, other than some premium german aftermarket wheels.and then not all of a manufacturers models are made this way. Sand casting is a far cheaper method, and more likely to show up in production cars. The wheels on your car are sand cast. If you call Tire Rack, ask them to talk about the method of casting,and you will get some good info.Remember that even drop forged wheels bend and break when you hit something though. Low profile tires are an invitaion for the rim to take a beating at the expense of some tire sidewall flex. No easy solution to this.
