For general information,
NHTSA studies have shown that the safest place in a car is the middle rear seat, because it is close to the center of mass of the car, and it has the farthest distance from the doors and is protected from intrusion into the passenger compartment.
I work as a vehicle accident reconstruction engineer in Ontario.
