Mine is a '99 V6 wagon. Started puffing occasionally at start-up at around 80-90k miles. Took it to Andrews for the 120k. They found a clogged PCV valve and cleaned/replaced it. No oil residue in the turbo output plumbing, indicating OK turbo bearings. No more puffs! I've been running Quaker State 10W-30 dino, changing every 5000 miles. Zero oil consumption. Andrews routinely uses Mobil 1 semi-syn, which I'll probably stick with now.
