Replacing Rear Shocks

I have a 2000 9 5 Wagon Gary Fisher edition. I am pretty sure one of the rear shocks in gone and am wondering if I should replace both rear shocks with new SAAB "load leveling" shocks like the originals or if I would be better off with a different type of shock. I live on a VERY bumpy dirt road in Vermont, so I am looking for something that will be durable and give a decent ride. Also, how difficult is replacing the shocks on the 9 5? I am reasonable handy--have done brakes, rotors, exhaust, etc. on my 89 900, but haven't had to do much on the 9 5 yet. Thanks.
