I have 17" Klingon wheels with Nokian winter tires on my '03 Aero Wagon and also had them on my '01 Aero wagon. I like them fine - I prefer having the cornering qualities of 17" wheels all year 'round. After all, very few of the miles driven in the winter are driven in snow and icy conditions, and I don't want to give up the 17" experience for 5 months of the year. The Nokians are excellent winter tires. The Klingon/Nokian combo is excellent on ice, on snow AND on clean roads.
Be forewarned though: 17" wheels are very vulnerable to pothole blowouts and late winter is the prime season for potholes. So, if you drive where there is a high likelyhood of pothole hits go with 16" wheels, otherwise, 17" wheels are fine.
The Klingons look great too.
