The crankshaft position sensor creates timing pulses and is digital in nature. It works or it does not. It also has no idea if the engine is on boost or not. So I think the problem is elsewhere.
new plugs: are these the right ones and properly gapped? BPCR6ES11s' gapped to .037" ??mm
injectors: the hard starting is totally consistant with fouled injectors. A good fuel system cleaner will show good results in a day or two if that is the problem
throttle body: if the TB has deposits that interfere with the movement of the motorized thottle plate, that could cause irregularities and perhaps some starting or idling problems. But TB fouling will typically effect more closed throttle positions than open.
octane: what grade of fuel are you using? Might be a marginal octane situation. Combustion chamber deposits increase the octane demand of an engine. A good fuel system cleaner can remove some combustion chamber deposits. If using a lower octane fuel, try a higher octane fuel. Do this if the fuel system cleaner does not solve the problem.
BPV: check that the small hose for the BPV is not damaged. BPV might be opening and leaking. If hose ok, check that the BPV diaphragm is not leaking.
