It's 2002 for the revisions.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Thu, 9 Sep 2004 17:43:39 In Reply to: 95 Aero - 2000 or 2001?, Rich Maurin, Thu, 9 Sep 2004 16:41:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2000 and 2001 are virtually identical. It's 2002 that got the new styling, front suspension upgrades, 5 speed auto, more advertised horsepower, sport seats, aluminum look dash and more.
$12,900 for a 92k 9-5 Aero sounds too strong. Although that's less than the wholesale book of $13,575, as I'm sure they might have explained, the mileage deduct to get down to $13,575 was $2,825 and a good used car guy would have doubled that deduction, bringing the effective low book value to $10,750. I think that $10k or less might allow the dealer a fair profit still as I think a car like that might auction for the $7-9k range. If a dealer paid more than $10k for that car, it better be a diamond with all the books and records and then it would still be a mistake.
I wouldn't be afraid of the miles, it's got double that left. I would want to know that all the service has been done, including the major at 90k. I wouldn't consider a mystery car with 90k, only a well documeneted one.
Some Saab mechanic somewhere knows that car very well, I might not consider it unless I could find out who that was.
