Back in April I bought a lovely CPO 2000 9-5 SE. I still am happy with the car but I am thoroughly pissed with the dealer who I bought it from. When I was looking at the car I noted, coll, ventilated seats. I tried it out but even with the heat way up couldn't get any heat from the seats (I was turning the ventilated seat toggle thinking it was one and the same with the heated seats). I told the salesman and he assured me it worked. I assured him it didn't. He said, don't worry, the car is a CPO, you have 2years to get it fixed. Just have them fix it during the next service. Well, in expectation of falling temps and with the 50K service I asked them to take a look at it. Rude awakening... No heated seats. The car just doesn't have any. Mind you, this is my 6th Saab since I was 17, all have had heated seats. I have grown very accustomed to heated seats. I wouldn't have bought the car without heated seats (there was a 20001 Aero, non CPO for about the same price).

Anyway, I called the used car manager and explained my situation. He contacted the salesman who claims to have had no knowledge of said discussion about heated seats. Maybe so, but I mentioned it to him (the salesman) on at least three seperate occasions. I'm flabbergasted to think the salesman who was in the car wouuldn't have said to me "no heated seats" when I brought it up, repeatedly.

So the used car manager is willing to split the cost on aftermarket seat heaters. I hate that option considering I feel I was lied to in order to make the sale. Here is my question:

1) Can I buy heated seats from a scrapjard or ebay and have them installed.
2) Is anyone in agreement that the dealership should pay for all of this?

Thanks.

Ps:

I'll post the outcome and if I don't get some satisfaction I'll bring it to the BBB as well as posting the Dealer's name and salesman's name on this forum as a warning.
