Supplier discount Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: gm supp discount and current incentives revisited, kydonian, Wed, 15 Sep 2004 06:19:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The supplier discount is a good thing, up to a point. It eliminates any need to bargain. It's a darn good price, but not necessarily the best price.
However, in the case of leftover '04s, dealers are still willing to deal. It's my opinion that you should be able to get the cars for near invoice, GM supplier or not. If you find a car left over from February, the invoice on it is actually quite a few hundred dollars less than the GM supplier discount. There was one case when I was looking at an '04 where not using the GM discount would probably save me a couple of hundred bucks.
In the case where cars are actually selling near MSRP, the discount is nice. However, when cars are being discounted by the dealer, anybody should be able to get near invoice on the car. And the incentives/loyalty only sweeten the deal.
