I've launched about the the same weight with a 9000 5sp and now a AT 9-5. You have really play the rpm, clutch and hand brake. I would rev the engine to about 1500-1700 rpms to get some boost and then start letting the clutch out while easing off the hand brake. Too fast and the car stalls, too slow and the clutch slipps. It will shorten your clutch life. Quality and steepness of the ramp it very important. AT is much easier just pulls it right out. Also, on the 9000 I got ecu upgrade to increase torque. Made a big difference.
