For wheels you can use the black steel with original Saab wheel covers (they are common in Europe), aftermarket wheel covers which resemble Saab covers (I did this), used Saab wheels from a reputable source, new aftermarket wheels (many here have done this), or swap your tires onto your existing wheels. Choice is based on personal preference and amount you wish to spend, there is no best answer.
Saab mentions a different tire size for winter use but it is only necessary for deep snow areas. In deep snow the narrower recommended winter tire is easier to push through the snow and bites deeper to get at teh roadway surface underneath. I run P225/50VR16's in summer and P195/65HR15's in winter. I probably don't need a narrower winter tire where I live, but they are slightly cheaper.
I initially ran Nokian Hakka Q's but have replaced them after 3 seasons with Semperit Sport Grips which are more similar to Nokian WR's. I put 8,000+ miles on my winter tires each year - 3 seasons was too long, the Hakka Q's were completely worn out when I removed them in the spring. I will know more about the Sport Grips by year end, not many on-line experiences yet. Blizzaks have fabulous grip but are very short lived. All of the major brands have devout believers. I suggest buying a quality brand for which you can get local service should you experience a blow-out or other failure during use.
