Hi,
I'm in the process of installing a Bluetooth hands-free kit in my '00 Aero. I temporarily wired up the kit tonight (Nokia CARK-112) just to test and everything worked perfectly. Now I just need to figure out where I'll permanently mount the electronics box & route with wires.
I think the best place is in an 'empty' space up behind the passenger's feet. I've enclosed a photo taken from the floor looking up into the passenger foot-well area. To the left of the floor light are two square holes and I'm wondering what is the purpose of those. I was going to mount the box on the other side of these holes, keeping it safe from passenger's feet, but also blocking them in the process. They are not exhaust vents (no air come from these holes when the floor vents are on). The exhaust vents are a little more forward (one is visible in the picture - in the darkened area).
If anyone has other suggestions on where to place the box (which is fairly small - about the size of a small paperback) fire away. I've read that place bluetooth kits below car stereo's sometimes causes interference issues so I'm tempted to not place it in the space behind the AAC panel.
Thanks for the advice,
KevinH
