Should I or Shouldn't I?

It's time to buy my first new car, and after much research, comparing, and shopping, I've got my heart set on a 9-5 Aero. We feel that this is the best balance of price, performance, size, safety, and economy. Also, this would be a perfect first car for our daughter in a few years. I'm a car guy and I take excellent care of my cars, so it will last us.An offer of 33,700 out the door after rebate was made to me for a new '04 with Steel Grey Met, Touring, Xenon, Auto, and Sport Tech (rats, no Venti Seats:(). Is this a fair price? have there been many problems?
Also regarding tires, I will be looking to purchase winter tires (I'm in NY Metro area). Tire Rack reviewers rave about Dunlop Winter Sport D2's and when Pirelli's wear out, Goodyear Eagle F1 DS/G3 (or somesuch) as replacements. Would it behoove me to go to 215-55/16 for winter tires as opposed to the 17's, and are there steel wheels available for winter?
