The dealer in Knoxville still has Blue (G-48) for $16-$18 per gallon. I just topped off my (G-48) with the Zerex G-05 for around $9/gl (another recent post said NAPA is having a 2 ro 1 special on the Zerex right now). There are many discussions on this BB if you search for it using various key words you will find LOTs of information AND opinions. See: http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=90093 in response to one of my questions.
If I understand correctly from this response and other reading I've done, you can mix G-48 and G-05 safely, but I am no expertt. Based on all my reading - I felt comfortable doing it.
It seems the worst thing to do is mix unlike types together (silicate, acid, or dexcool) as many posts indicate this causes (potentially bad) problems. It also seems that the consensus is that you're probably OK with whichever type you choose (though dexcool gets more "bad press") as long as you change it at least every 24 months (many recommend this for "long life" dexcool types as well).
