Liam,
I'm not an expert, heck I leased my Wagon on 6/27 -- 6 days before they sweetened the deal by $2K!. The key figures to look at are the cap. cost (what they are 'selling' the vehicle for), your trade value (cap. cost reduction) and the money factor (multiply by 2400 for the effective interest rate). Your lease is essentially the loan payments on the difference between the cap. cost and the residual at the money factor interest rate. I would guess that the money factor and the cap. cost are both some of the best Saab has ever offered (as were mine in June!). The residual ($21.5k) and the money factor aren't really negociable, they are set by Saab. The cap. cost and trade value are determined by your dealer although Saab is somehow buying down the cap. cost. My guess is that dealers don't get into cap. cost negociation since most folks look at the incredibly low payments and don't care that the dealer is getting somewhere near full price (plus holdback). In my case I 'paid' a couple thousand below invoice at an 'interest' rate of about 2% for 4 years. It soulded pretty good to me for a 9-5 Wagon. Of course it would now be about $4K below invoice!
So the bottom line is do you like the cap. cost and are they really giving you anything at all for the 900? Maybe you should keep it to spread the miles or tote the dogs! We kept our '95 900S with 120K on it. It is probably worth $3K, would be nothing but a hassle to the dealer, but is good reliable transportation for us.
Good Luck!
