Have posted about this annoyance in the past only to have responses that rain-sensing wipers are the greatest thing (beats sliced bread!!!).
After two trips to the dealers, I have given up and now operate the wipers manually. To me, the lack of reactiveness became a safety issue.
It goes like this:
You suspect a problem with the wipers, you try to validate your impressions while driving, you let rain accumulate to see if wipers will start and eventually you always get to a point where your patience makes you endure poor visibility for just a bit too long. Not talking about seconds here. Just a fraction of a second is enough. Almost got me into trouble a few times.
And then I thought, isn`t it interesting that certain manufacturers now make LED back lights to reduce response time between pedal press and brake lights coming on? Supposed to increase security they say!
And here I am sitting in my semi luxury car waiting for a gadget to operate. And it isn`t related to amenities. Maybe it`s just me, but seeing where I go ranks up there in terms of security.
Oh yeah! And the thing about identifying the problem at the dealers is that it never quite rains like it did when you had the problem.
Rain-sensing wipers.... NOT IMPRESSED
