I've talked to all of those people, and all they do is get me in touch with customer service. I've been routed to the same people over and over. No one will do anything w/o talking to customer service first. In fact, no one has even heard of the title "Factory Service Representative" at either the dealership, or Saab USA. I've talked to the manager of customer service and the response was "you have a case #, we'll let you know what happens." Talked to the head of service at 3 different dealers, "ahh yeah there's nothing we can do, this needs to be handled by Saab corporate." Even called GM "Oh...sorry sir, you need to call Saab direct as we don't handle those issues."
Either way, something SHOULD be done. This car is under factory warranty. They should take it, find out why it's burning oil and fix it, PERIOD!!! There should not be a runaround like this whatsoever. A/C was diagnosed bad, it was fixed. DIC was diagnosed bad, it was fixed. Sunroof was broken, it was fixed. Lights had condensation in them, they were fixed. Door panel was messed up twice, it was fixed. Passenger mirror fell out in travel, it was fixed. Passenger side seat heater was broken, it was fixed. Chasis creeked, it was fixed. Driver's seat was loose, it was fixed.
Their suggestion now is to keep a case of oil in the trunk for when I need it. Well...that was for the car with 150K+ miles on it when I was 17 years old and had no appreciation for automobiles. I finally grew up, saved some money and bought what I thought was a great car. There's no reason in the world that 'I' should be doing any of this legwork. It should be repaired without question.
Please understand my frustration with this, I've spent many many many hours on the phone with countless people, driving back and forth to the dealer, sitting there for up to an hour at a time just to have my oil checked and topped off and told to come back. I've had more problems with this car in 18k miles of driving than I had with 8 cars and 500k+ miles of driving total.
Honestly, they seem a little too lacksidaisical about this and that's really annoying. Obviously, they know it's a major problem, they can't figure out what's wrong, and they don't want to live up to the responsibility of it, because they know that it will cost them a pretty penny.
