Way to go benji, well thought out and well put. You get lots of griping and complaining on these BB's and that doesn't make a 9-5 an unreliable car.
Saab reliability is one of the bright spots of Saab ownership. One would have normally assumed that a Jap car like a Nissan or Subaru would be more reliable than a Saab, not so according to reliability experts like Consumers Reports and JD Powers. While Toyota and Honda are rated highly, a couple of GM cars are rated even higher lately, Buick and Cadillac for example, and Saab is still in the elite of European sedans, well above average, especially with regards to the 9-5 and especially versus other competitive European sedans and versus all the other Japanese brands.
You can enjoy the uniqueness of a Saab, and the many other performance, safety and price advantages, and get a well above average reliability record.
