Lucky not to have broken one yet but I must admit I find them pretty useless. If I could turn them on without the headlights, I would certainly appreciate them more in fog and HEAVY snow. Unfortunately, this is impossible on CND spec cars. My tech has tried everything with Tech II but its no use. While on the subject of lights, I am a firm believer in the use of DRLs simply because it's a proven fact that they save lives. It's part of the Swedish contribution to safety, BUT, I wish we had dedicated DRLs. I agree with others that it's annoying and expensive to change headlight bulbs so often. Furthermore, it encourages people in the US, where DRLs are not mandatory (heavens knows why), to turn them off. Also, I would like to be able to shut my headlights off when I choose, if needed, without having to pull a darn fuse. Besides driving in fog and snow another example is waiting for somebody in sub zero weather. It's normal to keep your engine running to stay warm, but do you have to blind everybody in front of you doing it ? As expressed in other posts on this great Saabnet, there are other occasions where you might want your headlights off. I think Saab needs a bit of enlightenment on this one.
