The alarm on my '00 9-5 Wagon has been going off every two hours all night, ugh! It's been displaying the "Service Theft Alarm" message for a couple of months, but I've been waiting for something else to go wrong before I hit the dealer 20 miles away. I've pulled fuse 5 for now...I hope it stays off before my neighbors send out a posse.

I understand that there is frequently a water problem with the unit under the driver's seat that may cause this. IF this turns out that the unit is, in fact the problem, is there any way to protect this unit from future water issues? I'd hate to have it replaced and then have it fail again in a couple of years. My car's under certified warranty until May 2006, I'd rather not replace that thing once it's out of warranty. I won't rely on my dealer to tell me if there's a way to avoid it happening again ;).
