I researched the coolant thing a few years back when I first heard about G-05. Days worth of pulling spec sheets here and there and finally talking with one of the Zerex chemists confirmed all the G-05 related stuff in the chart (besides their history on buying the NA license from BASF and that it's 99.5% identical with G-48 (slight silicate spec dif. as I remember - 250 ppm vs. 300 ppm max or some such).
Of course - the chemist was telling me it's just been Ford approved (as their improved GM Dexcool analog), as well as Daimler Chrysler (always was MB coolant) and you'd be seeing it on Walmart shelves that summer (of 2001?) - no such luck.
Funny thing that I even spoke to a Zerex distributor trying to get a barrel of the actual G-48 spedc for my local Saab indie and he said "no go - they ship most of it to the BMW plant down south". Now he uses the G-05
That chart sure would've been welcome back then :)
