What should a Saab feel like?

Hi, I am new to the boards; just bought a 2000 9-5 Wagon with 32,000 miles, and am wondering if I could get some feedback on a few concerns I have, perhaps putting my mind at ease. I have driven an 89 Volvo wagon and don't have much experience with what a "luxury" car should sound/drive like. For example, I can hear the engine when stopped at idle, like at a red light. It is just the hum of the engine, from what I can tell, and does not seem to be idling high or making any noise I would consider disturbing. Is this normal? It seems the cabin is a bit noisier than I would have expected. Also, I can feel the car shift, particularly into third, at times it seems to be shifing a bit hard. Is this normal? If you experienced Saab owners could just describe the noise/handling of your Saabs, maybe I could determine if the car should be checked out or if I am being paranoid. The car seems to run ok, otherwise. It seems like my mother's Chevy Lumina was a smoother ride than my Saab. Please tell me, what should a Saab feel like?
