$50.00 is charged to the dealer by Saab when changing CPO info(ie changing owner of car). Dealer will probably past it on to you. They can also verify CPO status on IRIS.
Also in the back of the service/warranty manaul there should be a post card to notify Saab of a new owner. You should fill it out and send it in. This is how Saab notifies owners of recalls. This address is for Norcross, GA but I suspect that it will get to Saab USA which is now located in Detroit, MI until at least 9/05. While the CPO may work for this purpose, I would still use the post card. It already has postage, so it is free.
Part of CPO is the owner has to maintain the car. You should be able to prove scheduled maintenance since CPO date, if your are not able to then things could be up in the air IF, the repair was related to lack of maintenance.
For example, turbo goes bad and sludge is found in engine, then you had better be able to prove at least an oil change every 10K. If a headlight bulb goes out or SID goes bad, I don't think anybody is going to ask for any records.
Remember CPO does not cover audio components (radio, cd player, amps, speakers, etc), battery, or wear items (clutch, brake pads, brake rotors, wipers, etc). It does cover bulbs (headlight, parking, tag, fog, interior, etc) and exhaust and everything else like the 4/50 factory warranty. IMHO, it is the BEST warranty I have ever seen
Good luck,
Steve
