Fault Code #19, ACC system... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Just for giggles and grins today I performed a recalibration of the Automatic Climate Control system while waiting for my wife to emerge from a store during Christmas shopping. Much to my surprise, the display showed a fault - code 19.
I checked my WIS when I got home and saw that this fault indicates a problem with the coolant circulation pump. Other symptoms are a cabin temp which is too cold for the temp set points. I had noticed slightly cooler cabin temps this past week, but thought it was just the first arctic blast of the season and my need to get acclimated to colder temps again.
The WIS shows a sketch of this part, but so far I haven't been able to determine its location in the car - or means to access it. The WIS also indicated that wiring faults and grounds with the pumps connector are a common cuase for this code.
Where is this pump? The sketch makes it appear to be about the size of a frozen orange juice can, with an electical conector on one end and two 3/4 inch hose fittings on the other. Is it part of the coolant by-pass line assembly between the engine and firewall?
Thanks.
