I'm not sold on it. I had it done on the wifes '99 9-5 with 36K miles. One of the pulleys was going bad and the alternator went bad, so I thought let's try the short belt, I have to buy one less pulley. Well, it's been on for more then 2 months but the belt is slipping to much, you can hear it and feel it slip every time you turn the steering wheel. Also, a new tensioner was also installed at the same time. Also, after driving the car, you can smell heated rubber (from the slipping belt), the same smell as a smokey tire burnout.
I would recommend holding off on doing the "Short Belt" setup at this time until the bugs are worked out.
