PLEASE HELP! I have a 1999 Saab 9-5 SE (71K) with a problem that no one seems to be able to correctly diagnose. The car has had many problems since I bought it with 10K. However, over the last year, it has been really bad. The car has cut out at stoplights twice and has had to be towed to a mechanic several times. I've had two engine cassette replacements, a new throttle body, a new fuel injector, a new battery, and new spark plugs within the last two years. The last engine cassette was replaced in September. Is there a reason that my engine cassettes keep failing? Now, the car has had trouble starting. The engine doesn't even crank. Similar to Al Jansen's prblem posted on January 1, there's an electrical hum and the dash lights come on, but the car won't start. In the past, it has started up after a few tries. However, recently, it's not starting at all, even after repeated tries. The car will shudder but will not crank. Like Al's car, once it was towed to my mechanic, it started up just fine. Unfortunately, no engine codes fired, so they couldn't diagnose the problem. I don't know what to do. I am continually stranded by this car, and nothing seems to fix it! Thanks so much for any help you can offer!
