My pulley seized 2 days before Christmas and took the belt with it. Luckly, I was a mile from my dealer and made it there on battery power. The car had 53K miles on it and there was no warning.
New belt and Pulley cost me 1 hour and $120. A tow would have cost more, so I'd change it more often. Yes, It should be on the maintenance schedule.
I had a Sable with 180K and never had such a problem. You think Saab could have done a better job here.
