To: buy above at lease end
$17,006.20 Cash or an additional
$1342.68 Interest for 3 year ( using 5% at a whopping 500/mo)
TOTAL $33422.12 Tax Extra after 6 yrs

Buy
$ 31,303 CarsDirect.com price inclusive of all rebates
$ 2000 Down
$29,303 Total Cost
$3876.03 interest ( 5 % for 5 years at 552.98)
TOTAL $35179.03 ( Lease above is cheaper and you get an extra year to pay at a cheaper rate without paying any more.

You need to remember that the lease payments include financing. At less than 1% it’s hard to beat. If you compare all the money out of pocket ( and assume 450 lease acquisition fee) its better to purchase by using the lease. ( Unless you need to unload the vehicle where your depreciation would kill you- but hen you would lose down money the other way.)
