Major coolant leak on 2000 V6 wagon

My dad's wife has a 2000 SE V-6 wagon with just under 40,000 miles. Last fall it started leaking coolant slowly and we'd top it up every month or so when the "fill coolant" message appeard. About three weeks ago, that message started to occure more frequently and was acompanied by the check engine light. Car went to the dealer for three days and they basically said they couldn't find a leak and did the 40k service to the tune of $800. Just dug the car out from the blizzard a few days ago and found a BIG green puddle under the center of the engine bay. Filled the coolant again and drove about 20 miles today, just to make it home with the check engine light coming on again. Dealer is 80 miles away and service trips are 2 day ordeals minimum. Parents are frustrated with dealer, though I've had good experiences with them working on my Saabs over the years. Any suggestions are appreciated.
