Sure, my wife and I brought two Saabs from NY to CA. A 1983 900 Turbo and a 1985 900. This was back in 1990 and 91 when they had the $300 import environmental impact fee that Saabs were exempt from because they were made to CA emissions requirements. Just in the recent past, some court ruled that the fee was illegal and now people are being reimbursed for it. Neither car ever came close to failing a CA emissions test while we had them. In fact, none of our Saabs has ever had any problem in this area. You should find it relatively straightforward and easy to register the car in CA.
