unhooking wires to door- Posted by IrieTom [Email] (#1032) [Profile/Gallery] (more from IrieTom) on Thu, 7 Dec 2000 15:33:59 In Reply to: Driver's side door hinge problem, PedroV, Thu, 7 Dec 2000 15:19:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
To cleanly remove the door from the car, you must unplug the wiring from the wiring harness under the hood behind the fuse box. You will then notice that the "plug" won't fit through the hole in the sheet metal.
There are three different "plugs", one each for power locks, power windows, and power mirror. You can pry open the plastic "plug", and the individual wires are easily removed. These will fit through the opening. Be sure to label which wire goes where, or else you'll have quite a puzzle to put together when re-assembling everything.
