Changing my oil the other day I noticed small flecks of metal in the oil. At 256,000 miles I have noticed no drivability problems. In fact I just drove it accross the country about 4,000 miles and it performed great. I fear a ring problem, I also detected a faint smell of gasoline in oil.
I am wondering if there are any other possible problems that could cause this and if i can diagnose it with out removing the head and getting inside.
