Today I changed the o2 sensor, no change !!!
So during the last 3 weeks, I changed the following parts by known good ones from my well running T16s with 160 HP which is also LUCAS equipped :
AMM, ECU, charcoal canister valve, AIC valve, fuel pressure reg., plugs+leads+coil+distributor+cap+rotor+control unit, hooter valve, APC solenoid and finally O2 sensor. I checked my hoses a dozen times (I even disconnected them and plugged all the holes in the throttle body) my vacuum is 0,5 bar vs 0,7 in the well running one. I don't know if this means I have a vacuum leak but I really can't figure out where then !!! Another thing I can't understand is that if I disconnect the large hose between hooter valve and throttle body (so it's before the plate !!) there is pressure coming out of the hole in the TB at idle but the idle also improves a lot. Reconnecting the hose almost makes the engine stall and then the bad idle is back.
Last discovery for today : I bought a small CO analyser and I don't have CO !!! Precisely 0 % at idle. And if I create an air leak, well then I have 0,5 CO% !!
Perhaps the best thing to do with the car is what I didn't do that much because I was looking for clues : drive it !!!
Anyway, I don't see what to check anymore.
Any suggestions welcome !!
Alain
