There appears to be no easy way to install a 2.3 in a C900. I looked into this some years ago and it would have been done if it wasn't a big deal. The bottom ends of the two engines are very dissimilar, the C900 is angled 45 degrees and the 2.3 isn't. The shape of the 2.3 pan and C900 transmission interfaces are very different, and would require an adaptor plate, which would require lengthening the drive chain, chain case,a lot of machining, etc. Another approach is to adapt a NG900 engine, transmission, and subframe to the C900. The NG front track is only .4 or .8 in (I forget which) wider than the C. The C chassis would have to be modified to accept the strut towers, upper engine mount, and NG subframe. A graft of a NG front structure to a C chassis is more like it. Who knows what problems would be encountered. Nice project, time and money can accomplish most anything.
